Carved Restaurant (U)

A simplistic yet radical idea of creating an organic box by allowing a rigid form to get subsumed by the external environment. The facades are cut into with various slits exposing the interior to the outside environment. This provides a unique experience to enjoy the spectacular views from the vantage point of the edge of the bluff. The structure holding up the box is inspired by the form of a tree and the corten steel facades give the building a warm, yet weathered, look. At night the building glows from within, inviting people inside the restaurant.
